It seems like such a simple statement: Writers write.
But I am learning that sometimes we skip some steps in our minds and jump to the end. We see people who have books or writing jobs and say, “Now THAT is a writer.”
Or we see people running marathons or sponsored by Nike and think, “THAT is a runner.”
Kevin often releases me from this thinking. He reminds me that a writer is simply someone who writes, a runner someone who runs.
So if I want to be a writer, I should write. I should not limit that title to book authors or columnists.
November is the month I write more.
I love a good monthly challenge or goal, and with November being National Novel Writing Month it seems fitting.
Normally I would create a giant goal of writing everyday. Then, two weeks in I would be stressed and frazzled trying to force daily writing. So instead, my goal is to write with greater frequency here. Likely 2-3 times per week.
It might be brief and the topics may vary…but writers gotta write.
Here goes nothing!!!!!
Thank you for reading!

You’ve got this!! I’m cheering you on. I think your goal sounds realistic, and it won’t burn you out.
This article [satire alert!!] tickled me when I read it: https://www.mcsweeneys.net/articles/how-to-write-100-000-words-per-day-every-day
My favorite quote: “Life is about decisions. Either you write 100,000 words a day or you meet people and develop ties of affection. You can’t do both.”
