This is a guest post by my husband, Kevin.

Yesterday we said goodbye to our neighbor Mike. We reflect today on how great of a neighbor he was and how grateful we are to cross paths. Mike was very kind to our family. He always said hi and let the kids play with his dog Jackal. Brittany let Jackal in the apartment because he would eat all the crumbs off the floor. Mike drove for uber on the weekends and would tell us funny stories from driving. He would go on adventure trips and share photos. Our favorite was when he went to Alaska. Mike had played soccer competitively and showed Chase a couple soccer moves.
Yesterday we helped Mike move all his possessions into a storage unit and a few items into his car. He is headed on a cross country trip for part work and part leisure with no final destination. As we said goodbyes, we asked when he might be back in Phoenix. He wasn’t sure but said he would let us know so we can grab dinner and a glass of wine. We are looking forward to it and hearing some good stories from his travels. This morning we reflect and cry happy tears that we had such a good neighbor and friend in Mike.
